Reading Figurative Language Purpose: Students review how authors use figurative language to create mood and mental images. Word Solving Strategies Purpose: Students learn how using a strategy of breaking words into parts can help read and understand unfamiliar words. Writing Figurative Language Purpose: Students examine how to alter their writing to include figurative language. Math Decimals in Expanded Form Purpose: Students demonstrate an understanding of decimal place value in standard and expanded form. *There is a decimal place value quiz on Tuesday Collecting and Representing Data Purpose: Students conduct experiments to collect data for graphing. Purpose: Students graph data collected from conducted experiments. Science The Role of Trees in the Water Cycle Purpose: Students explain the role trees play in the water cycle. Animal Life and Trees Purpose: Students describe how animal life is dependent on trees. Social Studies Democracy: Applying the Four Pillars of Democracy Purpose: Students apply what they know about the four pillars of democracy to specific scenarios. Democracy: Applying the Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedoms Purpose: Students apply their understanding of the Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedoms to new scenarios.
